Sam + Shannon : A Southern Highlands wedding
The romance and thoughtfulness that Sam and Shannon share was apparent down to the tiniest detail of their special day. He made sure that she received a locket the morning of the wedding, inset with a portrait of her late parents. They were married in Bowral, the homeplace of Sir Donald Bradman, on the same date The Don himself was wed. Shannon's speech thanked everyone who had made their wedding a success, and toasted to those who were no longer with the family. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. The dancefloor was then rocked with gems such as 'Nutbush City Limits', though oddly, a cry for 'Khe San' as the final song to be played was ign ...

Jade + Jacquie : A countryside connection
I first met Jade almost 4 years ago when I was the club photographer at The Cambridge Hotel. She's since launched a successful singer/songwriter career as Jade Lee Wright, and also found her partner in crime, Jacquie. Here's them enjoying a warm autumn afternoon in the Hunter Valley on a mini-connection shoot. Photography : The Wedding Architect

Belinda + Kenny : A Hunter Valley connection
I had the joy of being invited to Belinda and Kenny's engagement party on her parent's homestead in the Hunter Valley. There's nothing like the buzz of a hand addressed envelope arriving in your mailbox asking you to be part of a milestone day in a couple's relationship. All of Belinda and Kenny's family and friends made their special day go off without a hitch. In particular, big thanks to Belinda's parents for hosting the day, and to Kenny's parents for cooking an amazing lunch (it didn't hurt that they used to own a Chinese restaurant in Singleton!). We took a break from patting the 6 dogs in attendance,  jumped the fence into the neighbo ...

Teigan + Samuel : A wonderfully quirky wedding
I first met Teigan and Samuel over 3 years ago on their favourite day of the year, during a Halloween party at The Cambridge Hotel. According to photographic evidence taken on the night, Teigan was the Cookie Monster, Samuel was a newborn baby complete with diapers and bottle, and I was Minnie Mouse. The rest of the night, is best left to people's imaginations. After keeping in touch over the years, they invited me to be part of their union. Samuel organised an amazing bush Tipi retreat in Wollombi for their connection shoot (see the photos here). Teigan, ever the hostess with the mostest, curated and styled their Hunter Valley bush ceremony ...

Hannah + Andrew : A Botanic Garden connection
Hannah and Andrew have a funny, quirky and positive energy between them, and it spreads smiles to those they encounter. This was evident in their first email to me, entitled "Amazing photographer needed (we think you may fit the brief)". How could I resist the opportunity to create some photographic magic with a couple like that? They first met at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay at a work function (very romantic) and it was love at first sight. They just clicked. For their connection shoot, we decided to start at the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, and go for a wander together. https://www.facebook.com/hannah ...

Kiara + Joe : An intimate Nelson Bay wedding
Kiara and Joe first met in their hometown of Nelson Bay. They lost touch, and 6 years later, reconnected and their love blossomed. They have since moved halfway across the country to start a life together. I love the way they spoke of each other. Joe in his vows mentioned that he always has her best interests at heart, and that he doesn't take it lightly that she packed up her life to follow him as he pursues his military career. During her getting ready, Kiara shared with me the story of their plane trip back to Nelson Bay for their wedding. She watched Joe help an old lady who was struggling with her heavy bags in the airport. The old lady ...

Teigan + Samuel : A Wollombi bush retreat
Words can't describe how much I enjoy the company of these two. I had the pleasure of being whisked away to the bush serenity of Wollombi for their connection shoot at a private Tipi temple. I first met Teigan + Samuel in my nightclub photography days and it's been amazing to capture them in photos from when they first met, until now and their soon to be wedding. Thanks for cooking me snags, having a few drinks together, and sharing your company with me. https://www.facebook.com/sam.jobbins/posts/10207357340465707:0   Location : Tipi Temple, Wollombi Photography : The Wedding Architect

Lara + Adam : A stormy Wanda Beach wedding
Seeing Lara and Adam on their wedding day made two things clear. They are all about family, and their friends adore them. They joined hands in front of close family and friends at Wanda Beach Surf Club, with the cutest assembly of nieces and nephews in their bridal procession, which included their children, Liberty and Uriah. One thing that was surprising about this ridiculously photogenic couple was their claim that they had never had a good photo together. For their photoshoot, we braved a late coastal thunderstorm with the help of Lara's sister, Justine, a former professional umbrella holder, shoe holder and veil thrower. Did we manage to ...

Lisa + Duncan : A farewell from Manly to Dubai
Duncan first met Lisa when they were at university in Armidale. He had always had a huge crush on her. Despite his best efforts, they remained friends. A few years later and with the help of RSVP, they reconnected, and have the most beautiful little family together. They held a joint wedding and farewell for their upcoming move to Dubai with close family and friends in a Middle Eastern themed celebration. In her speech, Lisa invited all their guests to come and visit, not wanting to lose touch with anyone. Lisa and Duncan have loving families and have cultivated close friendships to last them a lifetime. Looking at them, it's not hard to see ...

Courtney + Jarrod: A Norah Head Proposal
It's what a simple proposal is all about. A beautiful beach day, the amazing landscape of Norah Head lighthouse just down the road from where the couple live, and a cool Central Coast vibe to top it off. Jarrod had gotten in touch a couple of days before with the idea of asking me to be the photographer for the special moment he would propose to Courtney. Upon getting the perfect ring, he called me the night before and told me that he was ready to get on one knee and propose to one very special lady. I cleared my Sunday afternoon schedule. To use one detail to sum it up, Jarrod brought tissues in his back pocket because he knew Courtney ...
